Outreach is a cornerstone in the BYCIG’s mission, connecting its values of financial literacy, community service, and youth empowerment with the broader community. Effective outreach serves as both a tool for engagement and a means of amplifying the club’s impact. Outreach programs have the ability to raise awareness about the club’s mission, which inspires more young people to join and learn about financial literacy and responsible investing. It also helps attract donors, professors, institutions, and professionals who can support the club’s charitable and educational projects.
We are built on a foundation of charity. A requisite for becoming a participating member in the BYCIG is simply the urge to do good. More specifically, we want to highlight and focus on local charitable causes in Brooklyn and NYC that motivate our members and donors. Potential causes of which we will focus on are education access of all New Yorkers, funding local hospitals and research centers, workforce preparation, and food-based charities. Engaging the Brooklyn community ensures that the club stays rooted in addressing real local needs, and outreach bridges the gap between education and meaningful impact.
The BYCIG have recently got in contact with determined students from a school in Virginia, who are inspired to create a Virginia chapter for the BYCIG. The prospect of this idea presents an exciting opportunity to broaden the club’s impact beyond its Brooklyn roots. This expansion can introduce BYCIG’s core mission, financial literacy, youth empowerment, and charitable giving, to a new community in Virginia.
The BYCIG plans to leave a lasting legacy of financial and social responsibility. Prioritizing outreach ensures the club’s work resonates far beyond its immediate members, and expands the opportunities that the BYCIG provides to the youth and charities.
